There is currently no cure for diabetes and those affected with this disease must endure daily insulin injections for the duration of their lives. Lisa Cruz gave a speech at the Gala Fundraiser for JDRF – Northeast Wisconsin chapter in February 2010, one year to the day of her son’s diagnosis of juvenile diabetes at age 9. The speech includes what life has been like for the their son, Manny, and the family and includes Manny’s symptoms of juvenile diabetes, challenges and words of hope.
